“The article has taken comments from our orchard supervisor Sarah way out of context. There was some damage from just over an inch of rain however nothing like the position reported in the article. Damage should end up being a maximum of 25% of our orange red variety that was “ready to pick” (note ~40 tonnes had already been picked prior to rain). This means damage should be limited to less than 10 tonnes which in our 800 tonnes projected total harvest is very small. Depending on how fruit picked yesterday holds up in the next day or so there may be some more damage but at this stage the fruit is looking ok to pack and send and the above estimate is our latest position”.
Primary Securities will update Growers as harvest results come to hand.
